Now, from your home screen, click on to Shift + Alt + H (or Face + Alt on certain Sure Type devices such as Escape or Pearl + tap the top left thrice, followed by once on Sure Press on the top-right.

Now type in the unlock code offered, and your Help Me screen would automatically get switched to the engineering screens for that particular duration.

Unless you specifically know your job, you wouldn't like to mess around with the things in there as there are few relatively low functions which may mess up with your Blackberry.
Nevertheless, it's worth enabling technical utility or out of idle interest, as the case would be. You can observe the battery's internal temperature and check memory usage and internal logs, besides other stuff.
Hardcore techies can check out the algorithm used for generating the code, as the automated code won't probably last long online, especially after RIM Legal has its rage on.
